Installing TuneMeUp is quick. The download is small — about 5 MB, which is smaller than a couple of photos — so it arrives in moments on most connections.
Before you start
Make sure the computer is running Windows 10 or Windows 11. TuneMeUp will not run on older versions of Windows or on a Mac. See Will TuneMeUp work on my computer? if you are not sure which one you have.
Installing it
- Go to tunemeup.fixmestick.com/start on the computer you want to tune up, and download TuneMeUp there.
- Open the file you just downloaded. Your web browser usually shows it at the bottom of the window, or you can find it in your Downloads folder.
- Follow the steps on screen. Set-up takes a minute or so.
- When it finishes, TuneMeUp opens and is ready to look over your computer.
You do not need to restart your computer, and you do not need to close your other programs.
Signing in
The first time you open TuneMeUp it asks for your email address. Use the same address you used when you ordered. We email you a short code, you type it in, and that is it — there is no licence key to find and no password to make up.
Keep the email handy while you set up: the code arrives in a moment, and you type it into the TuneMeUp window.
If Windows asks for permission
Looking over your computer needs no special permission. The first time you ask TuneMeUp to fix something that Windows protects, Windows shows its usual permission box — the one that dims the screen and asks if you want to allow the program to make changes. Choose Yes.
You only see it once each time you use TuneMeUp, not for every fix.
